Starnation Art Studio was founded by artist couple Andries and Louise Kluyts. The studio have 3 studios that are open to the public Monday to Fridays and on open studio days.
They have created an oasis for artists who would like to break free from the norm and even aspiring artists who want to sharpen their skills.

We're a multi-medium art studio and gallery. We offer classes, workshops, and private lessons in all sorts of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and knife making. Our artists are top-notch professionals who have been in the industry for years.

Welcome to my forge! - PVB Knives
I was born and raised on a farm in the Limpopo province, after my family moved to Heidelberg a few years ago I became an apprentice in Andries' workshop where I learned the skills of working with metal. In 2016 I travel through Thailand where I was introduced to bladesmithing and specifically forged herb cleavers. After getting home I was determined to master the skill of bladesmithing.

Carbon steel and unique handle materials are meticulously combined to create blades both beautiful and practical; the primary focus being on chef's and utility knives, each and every item is crafted to be capable of withstanding generations of use.
Pieter facilitates knifemaking workshops for groups of up to two people.

Louise Kluyts
Louise is a fine artists and a stained glass and mosaic artist. She facilitates workshops in a variety of mediums.
Louise's studio forms part of the starnation trio. Louise loves to work on public space art projects and were involved with Heidelberg's great selection of murals and mosaic benches.
Louise facilitates a very special art workshop where visitors can book a day course in doing pen and ink drawings using Heidelberg;s wonderful collection of beautiful buildings.
Louise Works with Oil on canvas and mixed media. She moves easily between mediums and genres and works with the seasons, her environment and find a lot of inspiration in ger town, Heidelberg.
